ABOUT THE EVENT
Sevenfold Theatre Company is a not-for-profit independent theatre company in Melbourne whose mission is to support and uplift fellow artists on their artistic journeys and add value to the Melbourne theatre community. Their 2025 season has been solidified and they are focusing on education through theatre in both productions, with themes of family violence and the history and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. The company aims to promote safety in theatre and to support the education of the wider theatre community.
The Safety in Theatre: Q&A hosted by Sevenfold Theatre Company gives industry members and interested local community the chance to understand the importance of creating a supportive environment in the rehearsal room and for performances.
In a 2017 survey conducted by Media Entertainment & Arts Alliance, it was found that at “least 40% of respondents have experienced sexual harassment” in performing arts workplaces with the majority of instances being in independent theatre.

Join them for an important discussion followed by a catered networking session to continue the conversation.
