About the Artists Accelerate Workshops

Moonee Valley City Council is offering a series of workshops to help artists get the most out of their practice.

Workshops will cover a range of topics, from financial literacy to getting your art seen, how to fund your art making, the art of closing a deal, legal matters and strategic planning.

Creative Plus Business has been engaged to deliver a professional development series for artists from a range of mediums living in and around Moonee Valley.

Who is presenting?

Monica Davidson is an award-winning expert on the creative industries. She started as a freelance writer, performer, and filmmaker, and after launching her production company, she began sharing her entrepreneurial learnings by mentoring and teaching other creatives.

In 2013 she consolidated her knowledge with a Master’s degree in Screen Arts and Business from AFTRS, and shortly after was appointed as Australia’s first Creative Industries Business Advisor.

In 2016 Monica founded Creative Plus Business, a social enterprise that educates creative practitioners about business, money and marketing. Monica also continues her own work, releasing her feature documentary/musical Handbag on SBS in 2023.

 

What is CREATIVE PLUS BUSINESS?

Creative Plus Business a social enterprise dedicated to educating creative people and arts organisations about business skills. They help by sharing practical knowledge in a fun and irreverent way, and designed to help creatives feel more confident and comfortable about the entrepreneurial aspects of their creative practice.
