Moonee Valley Brass and Moonee Valley Community Choir
The band is back together…and they are celebrating by playing some well-known hits from popular culture and musical history. Come along to enjoy an entertaining performance featuring music from the Beatles, the Village People, Star Wars, and Taylor Swift.
Moonee Valley Brass has been part of the local community for over 100 years, performing at local events including ANZAC and Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Carols in Queens Park. They've also performed at competitions around the country and in 2018 won the National Marching Championships. New members are always welcome, to both their main ensemble and their second group (known as Aberfeldie Brass) for beginning players.
Moonee Valley Community Choir has been performing around the local community for 10 years—in fact, they are celebrating their 10th birthday in December this year. An event-based choir, they come together for a few rehearsals in the lead up to an event. Past events have included Moonee Valley Festival, Carols in Queens Park and Winter Music in the Valley. Over 350 people have taken part in the choir since it was founded in 2011. New members are always welcome.
