The Clocktower Centre takes on Melbourne Fringe Festival 2024!

The Clocktower Centre is seeking expressions of interest from artists and producers to present their show in the Clocktower Centre Studio as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2024.

Are you a theatrical producer working on a show that will engage a wide range of audience?
Are you an artist ready to present your show in front of an audience?
Are you looking for an intimate black-box style space? We want you!

From 7–14 October 2024, we will be working with the successful applicant to host their fringe show!

We are looking for an artist to take over the space and present a minimum of 5 shows over the week.

The Clocktower Centre is Moonee Valley City Council's premier performing arts centre located in the heart of Moonee Ponds. Our Studio is a professional black-box theatre, approx. 110 square metres, and comes equipped with a PA system, a theatrical lighting rig and lighting control and raked flexible seating for up to 60 patrons.

The space & staff will be provided with no up-front charge. We will provide technical staff support for bump in, rehearsals and performances with staff time to be agreed upon beforehand between the venue and successful performing partners. We will also provide FOH staff support for any performances.

Centrally located in Moonee Ponds, the Clocktower Centre Studio is a professional rehearsal studio which can be utilised for creative development, turned into a black box theatre, or set up for artistic exhibitions.

Expressions of interest close: Thursday, 30 May 2024

  • In expressing interest, the artist agrees to a 50/50 split on all gross box office for the event
  • The artist must register their event through the Melbourne Fringe Festival
  • The artist must supply all promotional assets for their event including images and videos
  • The artist must hold the appropriate copyright to present their show
  • The artist must abide by all conditions as outlined in the presentation agreement. To be supplied to the successful artist.

Expressions of interest will be assessed based on the criteria below:

  1. Local artist or creative company
  2. Professional merit of the application
  3. Originality and concept
