ABOUT THE SHOW
IMAGINE LIVE, based on the bestselling book
by Alison Lester, is a live performance for
families. Combining live action and animation
in a large-scale, multi-screen performance,
powered by digital puppetry with augmented
and mixed reality. Underscored by original
music, characters and objects travel between
real and animated worlds, responding in real
time to audience input. Beautiful and
meaningful, IMAGINE LIVE is a celebration of
the transformative power of creativity.
IMAGINE LIVE oscillates between Alison's
iconic natural environments and the playful
home setting of the children. Props and
puppets are skilfully brought to life by live
performers and digital puppeteers.The players
utilise oversized household items to connect
a long distance video call between a
granddaughter and grandmother, enjoying a
nostalgic connection with their favourite
book, Imagine.
IMAGINE LIVE playfully broaches themes of
creativity, connection to the natural
environment, sustainability, and multigenerational
relationships.
IMAGINE LIVE is a creative and memorable
experience for families who will be brought
into colourful landscapes with linked
projection screens and interactive animal
puppetry, connecting to environmental
themes through imagination and play.

everyone from the ground up.
